Like many of my clients I have searched for settings to help ease symptoms and achieve relaxation. There have been times I have sought out comfort only to have my symptoms intensified by sensory overload. Lighting, diffusion of scents or outside noise, can make symptoms worse and sometimes just getting to an appointment is a struggle.  Having my own space allows me to control the environment. My clients do not have to worry about  being bombarded with unwanted sounds and smells, and it allows me to give personalized accommodations.

Best Practices and a note on Covid

Covid Protocols

Masking is optionable however, Please stay home if you are not feeling well. If you come coughing or have symptoms of an upper respirtory illness you will be asked to reschedule reguardless if you are wearing a mask. If you have been exposed to Covid please reschedule for 2 weeks after exposure. My studio uses a HEPA airfilter as well as a vornado transom window unit that is constantly exhausting my space. Since Covid is airborne I like to have good ventilation and monitor the C02, plus use filtaion and open windows.

Community Reflexology follows the hand washing guidelines put in place by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention before and after each client is given a session.

CDC Hand washing Protocol is as follows:

  •  Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap, and apply soap.

  •  Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.

  •  Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum the “Happy Birthday” song from beginning to end twice.

  •  Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.

  •  Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them.

  • Hand-sanitizer may also be used immediately before and after a session in addition to washing with soap and water.

Linens

Immediately following each session, Community Reflexology linens are washed in hypoallergenic detergent with a bleach alternative (Oxy Clean).  Nothing is ever scented. Linens are dried immediately after the wash cycle and folded and stored in a cabinet until use.

Studio equipment surfaces

Studio equipment such a towel-warmers, heating pads and other non-porous surfaces are disinfected using an NON-CFC aerosol disinfectant spray. Items are wiped down with paper towel after the manufacture-recommended disinfectant time.

Any foot soaking tubs are washed in soap and hot water then sprayed down with disinfectant spray. Items are wiped down with paper towel after the manufacture-recommended disinfectant time.
